このたび、NPO法人壱木呂の会の新理事長を務めさせていただくことになりました。

日本産漆は現在、消費量の減少や、原木であるウルシの木の不足により生産量も減り、深刻な危機に直面しています。国内で使われる漆のうち、国産漆はわずか1〜2％にとどまっています。

壱木呂の会は1997年の設立以来、国産漆の購入・植林・技術継承といった活動を通じ、こうした状況の改善に取り組んできました。

これからも創設時の理念を大切にしながら、皆さまとともに壱木呂の会のこれからを考え、育んでいけたらと思っております。

I am honored to begin my role as the new Chair of Ichikironokai, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the future of Japanese urushi (lacquer).

Today, Japanese urushi faces a serious crisis. Production is declining due to decreasing demand and a shortage of urushi trees. Currently, only about 1–2% of lacquer used in Japan is domestically produced.

Since its founding in 1997, Ichikironokai has been working to address this issue through initiatives such as purchasing domestic urushi, planting urushi trees, and passing on traditional techniques.

With deep respect for the original vision of our founding members, I hope to work together with all of you to shape the future of the organization.
